Call for Volunteers - Why not join us?

We're looking for members who share our passion for the magnificent forest and wetlands of East Harbour Regional Park

You can help:
  • Emptying possum traps and filling bait stations
  • Monitoring pests and native species
  • Growing trees at the MIRO nursery

MIRO restoration work in EHRP is dependent on volunteers.  It has been estimated that currently volunteer hours spent in the Park are equivalent to one full time worker all year round.  A huge effort - and one that needs to be maintained.

MIRO volunteers come from all areas - from the Hutt Valley, Wainuiomata, Petone, Lower Hutt, Eastbourne and Wellington.

MIRO is always on the lookout for new recruits. This is your Park to be enjoyed, so if you can lend a hand in looking after a possum trapping line, assisting with monitoring work, growing trees at the MIRO nursery, or just to become a MIRO supporter, please email info@miro.org.nz
